Privacy Policy

Last updated: November 5, 2026

The short version
  • No accounts, no sign-up, and no download history tied to you.
  • To prepare your file, we keep it on our servers for up to one hour, then delete it automatically. We never share it with anyone else.
  • Our host keeps short-lived technical logs, such as IP addresses, to run the site and stop abuse.
  • We use Google Tag Manager for analytics, and the ads come from third-party ad networks. Both may use cookies.

This policy explains what information GetMP4 ("we", "us") handles when you use getmp4.app (the "Service"), why, and the choices you have. By using the Service you agree to the practices described here. If you don't agree, please don't use the Service.

1. Our principles

2. What this policy covers

This policy covers getmp4.app. It doesn't cover the websites whose videos you link to, such as YouTube or Vimeo, or the third-party ad networks that show ads here. Each of those has its own privacy policy.

3. Information we handle

Links you paste. When you paste a video link, our servers use it to fetch the video's title, thumbnail, available formats and, if you ask, its captions or audio for a transcript. We use the link to answer your request and don't keep a list of the links you paste.

Files you download. When you start a download, our servers fetch the video or audio and prepare the MP4 or MP3 file, so we can show you its progress and send you a complete file. The prepared file is kept temporarily, for up to one hour after it's ready (three hours at most), and is then deleted automatically. It is only available through the private link created for your download, and we don't keep a record linking it to you.

Transcripts. If a video has captions, we use them. If it doesn't, the audio is sent in short pieces to Cloudflare Workers AI, a speech-to-text service, to write the transcript. The transcript is sent back to your browser. We don't store it, and you can download it from the page.

Technical logs. Our hosting provider, Cloudflare, automatically records basic request information, such as your IP address, browser type, the page requested, and the time. We use it to keep the Service secure and reliable. That includes limiting how many requests one address can make per minute, so the Service isn't overloaded or abused. These logs are kept for a short time under Cloudflare's retention settings.

Things we don't collect. We don't ask for your name, email address, phone number or payment details, and we don't read files on your device.

4. Cookies, analytics and advertising

Analytics. We use Google Tag Manager, a Google service, to load tools that help us understand how the Service is used, such as Google Analytics. These tools may set cookies and collect information like the pages you visit, how you got to the site, your approximate location, and your browser and device type. Google processes that information under its own privacy policy. You can opt out of Google Analytics with Google's browser add-on at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout, or by blocking cookies.

Advertising. The Service is free because it shows ads from third-party ad networks. Those networks may set cookies or use similar technology to show ads, limit how often you see them, measure performance and prevent fraud. They may receive information such as your IP address, browser and device type, and the page you're on. Their use of that information is governed by their own privacy policies, not this one.

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, or use your browser's privacy features to limit ad tracking. The Service will still work.

5. Children

The Service is not directed to children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child under 13 has given us personal information, contact us and we'll delete it.

6. When we share information

We don't sell your personal information. We share information only:

7. Security

The Service is served only over encrypted HTTPS connections, and we keep as little data as we can. No method of sending or storing data online is completely secure, so we can't guarantee absolute security.

8. Other websites

The Service links to and fetches content from other websites, and ads may link elsewhere. We're not responsible for those sites' content or privacy practices.

9. International visitors

Cloudflare runs a global network, so your request may be handled in a data center outside your country, including in the United States. Data protection laws there may differ from yours. By using the Service you understand that your information may be processed in those locations.

10. Your choices and rights

Because we don't keep accounts or download histories, there's usually no personal profile for us to show, correct or delete. Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, delete or object to the processing of personal information. To ask about these rights, contact us at the address below and we'll respond as the law requires.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the Service changes. When we do, we'll change the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Using the Service after an update means you accept the revised policy.

12. Contact us
